Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2026

This policy explains how Habakkuk Academy (“we”, “us”) collects and uses your personal information when you use the Business Management course website. We process personal information in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

Why we use it

We rely on the performance of our contract with you, our legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.

Public certificate verification

Your certificate has a QR code and certificate ID. Anyone who has your certificate ID or scans the QR code can see your name, completion date, certificate ID, issuer and the certificate’s non-accredited status. They cannot see your email address, answers or payment details. Verification pages are marked so that search engines should not index them.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the course, under appropriate agreements:

Some of these providers store or process data outside South Africa. Where this happens, we rely on providers bound by data-protection laws or agreements that give a level of protection comparable to POPIA. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Browser storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use your browser’s local storage only to keep you signed in and remember your chosen display currency. Clearing your browser data removes these.

How long we keep it

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and restricted database access. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

Your rights

You may ask us to confirm what personal information we hold about you, give you access to it, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Email habakkukweb@outlook.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. We may need to verify your identity first.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) — see inforegulator.org.za.

Children

The course is intended for adults. Learners under 18 need the consent of a parent or guardian.

Changes

We will post any updates on this page and change the date above. Significant changes will be communicated by email.
